A PUB near Wedmore has a new coffee and weekend breakfast offering for thirsty and hungry customers.
The Sexeys Arms in Blackford, near Wedmore, has recently started offering locally sourced full English breakfasts at weekends from 9am to 11am, alongside a range of coffees available throughout the week.
Josh Batstone, who opened the pub on July 4, 2024, has slowly expanded the offering available for customers. The new offering accompanies a cosy lounge area, with comfortable chairs and a warm atmosphere.
He said: “These days a pub can’t just be a place to drink, and it’s good to have a place all in one here at the Sexeys Arms. We now offer customers a place to come in and have coffee and a breakfast. It works really well.”
Josh continued: “A month or so after we opened, all the staff had training from the company that installed the new coffee machine. We offer a range of coffees and use Brazilian and Colombian coffee beans. And just last weekend, we started doing our breakfasts.”
Ingredients used in the breakfasts are locally sourced, and there is also a vegetarian option. There are three sizes of breakfasts available for customers, priced between £6.99 to £12.99. Coffee is £3 and tea is £2.50.
“What’s really nice is that we’ve kept customers who came to the pub under the previous owners. People from the nearby villages of Mark and Wedmore, and even some regulars from Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge.”
The Sexeys Arms is open from Monday to Wednesday, 3pm to 11pm; Thursday to Saturday, 12pm to 11pm; and Sundays from 12pm to 9pm. To find out more, phone: 01934 352152.
