THE fire service received several calls last night reporting a car on fire on the M5.
At around 11.45pm, two fire engines from Bridgwater were sent to the M5 Northbound, Junctions 23-22, between Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea.
A Spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said: "On arrival crews confirmed this vehicle was well alight and extinguished it using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.
"The car was totally destroyed by fire."
The cause of the incident was said to be accidental.
