THE sunny weather is set to come to an end this week, as thunderstorms head to Somerset.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for much of the UK - including all of Somerset.
The warning is in place from 6pm today (June 16) and, in parts of Somerset, could last until 9am on Saturday morning (June 19).
However, from Wellington to West Somerset, the warning is only in place until 12pm tomorrow (June 17).
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail and strong winds," said a spokesperson for the Met Office.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
"There is also a chance the storms could lead to road closures and power cuts."
