MOTORISTS in Somerset are being warned of possible delays with a fuel protest underway this morning (Friday, July 22)
Avon and Somerset Police say a slow-moving convoy of about 10 vehicles joined the M5 northbound at Junction 24 (North Petherton) a few moments ago.
A force spokesperson said: "Currently there are no delays on motorways in our area due to protest activity but some motorists may experience longer journey times today."
A "small number of vehicles" has also set off along the A38 north from Junction 24 of the motorway.
The spokesperson added: "We understand they are travelling slowly to the Shell petrol station near Bridgwater's Express Park to conduct a protest at the forecourt."
The initiative is the second protest this month on the M5 and the A38 in Somerset against escalating fuel costs.
