HIGHLIGHT of the Brent Knoll & District Mixed Skittles League Second Chance Cup third round was a knock of 96 at Pawlett Legion by Paul Manktelow, of Crown Jewels, in their five-pin win over Coasters.

He went across the board 7, 17, 17, 17, 17, 13, 8 to fall just four short of the magic 100 and finished 33 pins ahead of the next highest scorer on his team. Kevin Barber hit 70 for Coasters.

Team performance of the week in the Second Chance was by Moggies, of Division Two, who beat Premier-Division Incumberance by 16 at the Lighthouse Inn led by Steve Sparkes (81) and Ralph Briggs (77). Nick Jones (74) and Maxine Cook (70) top-scored for the losers.

Also through to the Second Chance semi-finals are Ritz Crackers, who beat Dirty Dozen by nine at Morlands Social Club, and Bombers, 65-pin winners over Desi's Diamonds at the Brent Knoll Inn.

In the Knock-out Cup, Rex's Mob won the all-first-division clash against Graham's Gang by one pin at the Bristol Bridge, having needed only 48 for victory.

The two quarter-finals played at the Watchfield both resulted in six-pin wins, as Four by Twos beating Premier rivals Hillbillies and Bandits, of the Premier, just saw off second-divisionBurnham 8.

The fourth semi-finalists are another Premier team Outlaws, who ran out 45-pin winners over first-division Allsorts at the Crown Inn, East Huntspill.
