BURNHAM’S Under-14 girls took part in a Somerset Hockey Under-14 tournament at King’s College, Taunton, at the end of last month, and came through a very cold and difficult day.
They lost their first five games against some well-drilled and skilled teams.
Although they organised themselves well and put in maximum effort, the losses dented their confidence.
They were also hit by an injury to goalkeeper Emma, although Macey and Ruby deputised well.
Burnham were soundly beaten by Taunton Vale in their sixth match, but then bounced back to record their first ever win over Cheddar Valley Youth HC, thanks to a determined performance.
