Much heavier rain than the showers forecasted rendered the 'Cases' Rebels chances of maintaining their lead at the top of the SGB Premiership table fruitless on Wednesday night.
Whilst the track was holding up well during the first bout of showers from around 5pm, and the riders were prepared to push back the first race time if the rain eased.
The intensity of the rain increased just around scheduled start time leaving the track waterlogged, prompting the call to postpone the event around 7.45pm.
The club hope to be in a position to confirm a restaging date for this visit of Wolverhampton within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, home wins for both Swindon and King’s Lynn meant the Rebels lost their position at the top of the league, as they now trail Swindon by one point (but have four matches in hand) and are on equal points with King’s Lynn (31) but an inferior race points difference.
The Rebels have a match in hand on King’s Lynn and the date for their visit to the OakTree remains under negotiation.
