BURNHAM-on-Sea Cricket Club have won the Somerset Cricket League division three.
In the last round of the season they travelled to Taunton St Andrews needing a win to with the competition, which they did, in emphatic style.
The away side were asked to field after Taunton St Andrews won the toss, elected to bat, and scored 177 for seven.
Thomas Rew scored 61 for Taunton whilst Sam Woodland hit 59 runs, helping their side with the bat.
Matt Dibble took three wickets for Burnham whilst Connor Lefrere and Ollie Farnham took two a piece.
Burnham captain Robbie Driver and Brad House opened the batting and both set about the Taunton attack with determination and aggression and despite using 6 bowlers none of them could get a breakthrough.
House and Driver steered Burnham home with a magnificent partnership of 178.
In a superb knock of 100 not out, House hit four sixes while Driver scored 67 in a great Captain’s knock.
Peter Harris of Burnham finished the season with the most wickets in the league, an impressive 32 for the campaign.
Bradley House and Rob Driver finished second and third in the most runs made race, with 601 and 531 respective run totals.
Next season Burnham will take their talented young side in to division two of the Somerset Cricket League's.
