MASON Shaw took just 20 seconds to prove he still has a future in bareknuckle boxing.
The Burnham-on-Sea fighter accepted a fight with pit fighting world champion Arron Lambourne at a week’s notice – and pulled off a win that saved his fighting career in front of a packed O2 Arena.
He said: “I needed that.
“I haven’t had the best of luck in my last two fights and I had words with my family whether I should carry on doing this.”
Shaw soon had his fighting spirit tested as Lambourne came out fast firing jabs and left hooks.
He launched a rushing attack with Shaw sitting on the ropes and instead ran onto two perfectly-timed punches.
Shaw clipped him with a short left hook and a clobbering right that sent Lambourne crashing face first to the canvas.
The referee waved the fight off immediately.
