Burnham Rugby Club: Rusty Antlers 38-32 Young Bucks

IT was a case of experience showing youth how it is done at Burnham-on Sea RFC's Boxing Day friendly match.

The Rusty Antlers, made up of players on the more experienced side were victorious over the Young Bucks in the match.

However it wasn't about the score, more about having fun, playing rugby with some good friends and enjoying the festive spirit.

The annual Boxing Day fixture kicked off at 11am at the BASC Ground and it was enjoyed by current players, old club men and also friends and family.

Overall another successful match that highlighted even further how good the club spirit is at Burnham Rugby Club.

A look back at 2022 sees that on the pitch the club is doin welll also.

A spokesperson from the club said: "We finish off 2022 with our 1st team nicely poised for the run aiming for their highest ever finish at this level and our 2nd team soaring high at the top of their league currently unbeaten.

"The junior section is thriving with numbers in each age group and new members joining weekly."

The club will play a lot of their games in 2023 at home.

"A lot of their games will now be at home for the rest of the season so please come down on a Sunday morning to support.

"Lee Berry and his committee have worked tirelessly throughout the season to keep forever improving us as a club mainly getting the new floodlights up and running on our back pitch."

Burnham Rugby Club First XV are back in action at home on January 7 against Longlevens and the Second XV continue on January 14.
