Counties 1 Tribute Western North: Clevedon 14 - 29 Burnham-on-Sea

BURNHAM-ON-SEA RFC picked up their sixth win in as many matches at the weekend with an away victory against Clevedon.

It was a tense battle that at times looked like either side could win however it was the Stags who came out on top, 14 points to 29.

On a cold muddy day, Burnham stepped out and once again performed to a top level.

Credit must go to Clevedon though as they put in a good match against the in-form Burnham side.

The result moves Burnham closer to the top of the table on points but has them still in third place in the Counties 1 Tribute Western North division.

They sit on 65 points, three points behind second placed Nailsea & Backwell and 18 behind leaders Cinderford Seconds.

Overall Burnham are the form team in the competition though and they do not look likely to stop this current run.

On Saturday, February 25 they travel to Cheltenham North to take on the bottom placed side.

Counties 4 Tribute Somerset South: Burnham-on-Sea II 52-12 Weston-s-Mare III

ELSEWHERE, the Burnham-on-Sea Second XV continued their impressive season with a whopping 52-12 victory over Weston-super-Mare Thirds.

It was a solid display from start to finish for the Stags and the win cements their place atop the Counties 4 Tribute Somerset South division.

Weston, who currently sit in second place, were no match for Burnham as the scoreline suggests.

And of course, the bragging rights in the local derby now sit with Burnham.

Up next for the Seconds is a home game against Cheddar Valley, who are currently fourth, on Saturday, February 25.
