BURNHAM-on-Sea Rugby Club have confirmed their coaching setup for the upcoming season.

For the 2023/2024 season, there will be a new addition to the team of coaches, but also stability is key.

Kevin Inalls will continue his role as head coach of the First Team at Burnham RFC.

A spokesperson from the club said: "His record over the last five seasons speaks for itself, where he has built a quality brand of rugby for all to enjoy, whether as a player or spectator.

"Along with his 'we do everything with a ball in training', philosophy numbers have grown and grown."

Alongside him, as always, will be backs coach Tim Piper, who will continue on from last season.

The club added: "Again with Kev, Tim has created an exciting, powerful, and fast backline that has the ability to unlock defences and score some scintillating tries."

Moving to the new addition for this season, and joining the team as a scrum and lineout coach will be Chris Warner.

Chris comes with a wealth of experience with us as a powerful tighthead prop but also the senior navy team with playing experiences in Toulon and not too long ago running out in front of 50,000 fans at Twickenham.

Last season, Chris has been getting coaching experience with the navy U23s, along with assisting in some senior coaching.

On his appointment, Chris said: "I can't wait to get started and helping the lads develop. They're already a strong, powerful outfit, and we will be looking to add to their quality by fine tuning the set piece."

Recently the club held its Annual General Meeting chaired by club chairman Lee Berry.

After the meeting he said: "Thanks to those who attended the AGM. We are actively seeking volunteers to fulfill the following roles: Club Secretary, Sponsorship Secretary, and Junior Coaching Coordinator.

"The benefits of joining a very successful club and committee, you will have access to Six Nation and Autumn International Tickets. You will be provided Club Wear and also discounted Presentation Tickets."

In terms of rugby action, both the First and Second teams return to action in September against teams from Wellington RFC.

On September 2, the First XV play Wellington Firsts at home, and on the same day the Burnham Seconds travel to Wellington Seconds.
