Somerset Division One: Burnham United First 2-0 Stockwood Green
BURNHAM United snapped their four game losing run in all competitions with a convincing win at home at the weekend.
The end result was 2-0 to Burnham at home against Stockwood Green in the Uhlsport Somerset County Leagues Division One.
Curtis Bradshaw bagged both goals for his side to continue his scoring form and those goals proved the difference at the end of the ninety minutes.
The three points take Burnham up to third place in the league standings and is their third win in five league fixtures.
So despite the recent losing run, Burnham's start to the 2023/24 league campaign has been strong.
Up next for Burnham United AFC is another home match in the league, this time against Castle Cary on Saturday, September 30. Kick off is 3pm.
Elsewhere, Burnham United A Team were beaten 6-0 away from home against Weston Crusaders.
The result takes Burnham to ninth place in Division Four of the Weston-super-Mare And District Football Leagues.
A spokesperson from the club said: "Today was always going to be a tough game against a big physical team but we battled until the last whistle.
"A few mistakes and lapse of concentration leading to goals cost us. Onto next week where we regroup and come back stronger."
Next week, Burnham United A take on Banwell A away from home in the league on Saturday, September 30.
