Rain hampered any chance of a result as Burnham-on-sea travelled to Wembdon Seconds for their latest match in Somerset Cricket League Division 1.
Wembdon won the toss and elected to field and it looked like the right decision when Peter Harris was caught by Joey Redman off the bowling of Michael Watts with the score at 16-1.
Matt Denman was joined at the crease by Rob Driver and they managed to put on 34 runs for the second wicket before Driver was caught and bowled by Pete Gliddon.
No score was added when Ewan Mccord was bowled by Gliddon and Denman eventually succumbed when he was caught by Stu Duerden off the bowling of Alastair Cook. Denman had scored 26 amd Burnham were on 69-4.
By the time the 100 was up for Burnham, three further wickets had fallen with Connor Lefrere (5), Lee Coles (4) and Matt Dibble (7) all being dismissed.
Joe O’neill was the next out leaving the score at 104-8. Ollie Farnham and Sam Goodhew managed to stage a later fightback, adding a 49-run partnership but Burnham were all out for 153.
Only one over was possible in Wembdon’s response and they finished on 11-0 in that one over.
The match was called a draw with Burnham collecting 19pts and Wembdon 2nds 22.
The results leaves Burnham-on-Sea in Seventh place, having won one and lost seven. The Stags travel to thrd-place Cranmore next on August 3.
