Burnham United have not waited long to win their first piece of silverware, taking the victory in the Referees Cup Final.
United beat Puriton 3-2 at Bridgwater United’s Fairfax Park to win the Sunday Football League competition.
It was an entertaining game at Fairfax Park, with Burnham going a goal down and Matt Winter levelling late in the first half making it all square at half time.
Puriton went 2-1 up, and with time running out Burnham showed the fight they needed to score two goals in the last four minutes through Elliot Keen and Jaymie Whitehouse to win the Referees Cup.
A spokesman for the club said: “Well done to all the players and management team involved today, a big thank you to the Burnham Utd U7 team for being mascots and to all the supporters who came down to Fairfax Park.”
