Cheddar Ladies' walking football team put on an impressive performance at the regional FA Walking Football Cup competition.
Despite being a relatively new team, and competing against players in their 40s, the over-50s Cheddar team secured a third-place finish.
They were only outplayed by more experienced teams from Plymouth Argyle and Melksham Town.
Cheddar lost their first two matches to the finalists but went unbeaten for the rest of the tournament.
Key goals came from Liz McConnell and Kerry Hayes, each scoring twice.
The team's success was largely attributed to the goalkeeping skills of Lisa Machin, who repeatedly thwarted opponents' attempts.
Defenders Dawn Clarke, Nikki Llewellyn, and Cheryl Ward were praised for their improving performances, keeping opponents' chances to a minimum.
Midfielders Nikki Frewin and Sarah Williams were lauded for their exceptional efforts in supporting both the attack and defence.
The attackers, McConnell and Hayes, were also commended for their contributions to the defence.
The team was noted for their camaraderie and the joy they displayed while playing, with credit given to coach Dave Burden and supporters Sky Gould and John Portt.
A special mention was also made to RMR Building Supplies for providing the team's kit.
The Cheddar Ladies' walking football team has demonstrated that age is no barrier to success in sport.
